SPECS
- General Specifications ·        The set out offset of the Spill Barrier from the wall: a minimum of 100mm. The final position will be subject to a site survey and approval of drawings issued by proMHS. ·        Each Spill Barrier will have a 12V powered magnetic lock which will hold the barrier locked in the open position. Power to the magnetic lock relay will be supplied by other and should be linked to the fire protection system. When power to the magnetic lock relay is cut-off the magnetic lock will deactivate thud allowing the Spill barriers to close automatically. ·        The operational readiness of the retention barriers should be guaranteed within 60 seconds after the alarm is set. ·        Each Spill Barrier will close under its own mass the speed will be controlled via a hydraulic strut. When the barrier reaches the ground, a spring-loaded lock will activate forcing the barrier down to compress the double rubber seals flush with the floor thus insuring a watertight seal.  ·        The Spill Barrier will be supplied with two (2-off) round 1000mm high protection bollards, one at each end protecting the barriers components from materials handling equipment traffic. It remains the customer’s responsibility to ensure that their staff are adequately trained to operate their materials handling equipment in the warehouse thus preventing damage to the systems. Damages must be reported and corrected immediately ensuring the system is always in working order.Â
- ·        It is critical for the floor to be flat, level, and smooth over the threshold in order for the Spill Barriers to seal completely along its length spanning the doorways. We cannot be held liable for poor sealing properties of the Spill Barrier as a result of a not flat, level or unsmooth surface.  For the system to work the active path below and between each barrier must be kept clean and clear of all obstructions, debris, and equipment at all times.
- ·        Spill Barriers as a part of the retention device need to be impermeable (less than 50ml per hour and meter barrier leakage rate) and resistant to mechanical, thermal, and chemical exposure.
- ·        The magnetic lock holding the barrier in the open position as well as the warning devises are powered by means of a 12V battery system. This shall ensure that these systems remain active during power outages. The Spill Barrier will close if power is not restored for an extended length of time and the battery is not been charged.
- ·        When the Spill Barrier is activated to close an audible alarm and flashing strobe light will be activated which will alert persons that the barrier is closing, and the path must be cleared.
- ·        The Spill Barrier will remain in the open position keeping the doorway free for traffic and will only be activated and close automatically once and signal is received from the fire detection system.
- ·        The Spill Barrier paint colour: Yellow. To be confirmed prior to commencement of manufacturing.
